Thursday, April 29th 2010 - Kinamik Data Integrity, the real-time data integrity assurance company, announced today that the Consortium Open Administration of Catalonia (Consorci Administració Oberta de Catalunya, AOC), a government-ruled consortium, has chosen Kinamik for providing authenticity and integrity assurance for the IT services they provide to Catalan Administrations. By securing their data with Kinamik, the AOC wants to ensure that highly sensitive electronic records are fit to be presented in Court in case of need.

AOC is a consortium formed by the Catalan Government and other local Administrations. Its mission is to collaborate with local Governments, helping to improve their services by providing IT assistance and tools. AOC will be implementing the Kinamik Secure Audit Vault for securing all audit trails (or logs) created by the electronic services they provide. These logs include valuable information such as the "who", "what" and "when" of any action performed, and are extremely important when building a case for any litigation or legal procedure. However, for giving them sustainable evidential weight it is critical that their integrity is demonstrated. For dealing with data such as log files, AOC needed a real-time integrity protection solution like the Kinamik Secure Audit Vault since other solutions –e.g. digital signatures and timestamps- are batch-based and create a window of opportunity for any manipulation to occur.
