The difference: Immutable Audit Logs
The Kinamik Secure Audit Vault's patent pending technology is based primarily on building Immutable Audit Logs, or IAL. Immutable Audit Logs are a technology designed for recording events that take place on any application or information sharing environment, and then renders this information immutable. The data recorded becomes tamper-evident, creating clear evidence of what happened, when it happened and by whom. Logging activities in an immutable way is the only way to irrefutably demonstrate that there is compliance with established policies and laws. The result of implementing such solutions is trust, accountability and transparency in information systems. Immutable Audit Logs technology has been recommended as a specific security and privacy implementation by The Markle Foundation Task Force on National Security in the Information Age.
There are five distinctive advantages of this technology: 1. They provide a mathematical certainty that the contents have not been altered, with built in verification of accuracy. 2. The data stream provides an immutable sequence of events. Standard encryption in itself does not inherently provide this value. 3. The contents themselves remain readable and retain their native format. 4. The processing overhead is far lower than other technologies, such as applying a digital signature for every event. 5. The software approach is flexible and can be merged or used in conjunction with a wide variety of other systems and platforms.
But how is the Kinamik Secure Audit Vault's technology different than others?
