Trustworthy Lawful Intercept Data |
Communications Service providers such as telecommunication companies and Internet Service Providers are mandated to comply with national lawful intercept legislation (e.g. CALEA in the U.S., ITC/110/2009 mandate (Orden ITC/110/2009) in Spain, etc.) and implement technologies and processes to collect, preserve and supply to Law Enforcement Authorities (LEA) intercepted electronic communication that could be part of investigations or be used as digital evidence. For delivering these filtered Content of Communication (CC) and/or Intercept Related Information (IRI) these organizations apply Lawful Intercept (LI) solutions that would allow them to satisfy these requirements; however, lawful intercept solutions are often high-value targets and susceptible to potential abuse by internal employees and hackers. Ineffective controls to protect and preserve the confidentiality and integrity of sensitive system audit logs and lawful intercept data can have significant privacy infringement, trust and compliance impacts, and can dramatically affect the evidential weight of the collected data in legal situations.
Kinamik’s technologies are designed to be deployed in environments where a high degree of trust is required. These technologies are designed to integrate with Lawful Intercept solutions to provide an always-on, irrefutable record of all LI transactions and interactions, and to demonstrate the authenticity and integrity of the intercepted data. Kinamik's realtime cryptographic technologies for granular data integrity protection of LI data and its system’s audit logs ensures that both LI data retain its chain-of-custody, with verifiable evidential weight and protection from even the most privileged use.
Since both the Kinamik Secure Audit Vault and the Kinamik Data SafeSealer are software-based solutions, no expensive or proprietary equipment is needed for supporting the validity of the secured system, audio or video surveillance data.
